Opening statement by Cllr Thembeka Semane during public hearings on the Draft Mobile Broadband Services Regulations

ICASA will hold the virtual public hearings in respect of the draft Mobile Broadband Services Regulations published on 26 March 2021 for public comments. The public hearings will be held on 12 and 13 August 2021. Stakeholders are hereby invited to participate in these hearings.

ICASA condemns the ongoing protests currently taking place in the country, which have resulted in the disruption of communication services, closure of some community radio stations and vandalism of network facilities, and calls on communities to safeguard the communication infrastructure against this vandalism.
