Johannesburg – On 16 February 2018, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa ("the Authority") published a Discussion Document on Priority Markets for public comment for forty-five (45) working days.

On 19 April 2018, the Authority received a request for an extension from MTN South Africa. After considering all relevant factors, including the potential prejudice that affected stakeholders may suffer, the Authority has decided to accede to the request.

The Authority hereby grants an extension to all stakeholders to submit their written submissions on the Discussion Document on Priority Markets from 25 to 30 April 2018.

Due to the importance and need to conclude the Inquiry as soon as reasonably possible, the Authority will not consider any further requests for extension herein.
