ICASA partially closes its offices for the festive period (17 to 31 Dec 2020)

Pretoria – The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA/the Authority) would like to inform all stakeholders that only a limited number of business operations will be available during the period from 17 to 31 December 2020.

All ICASA offices will, however, be fully operational from 4 January 2021.

Stakeholders are hereby informed that employees in key positions - such as those investigating radio frequency interference cases, and those who conduct regular inspections - will continue to be available for the execution of their duties as required (particularly during emergencies).

ICASA will also be receiving applications on 28 December 2020 in respect of the Invitation to Apply for the licensing of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) spectrum, also known as high-demand spectrum. As such, the ICASA Head Office will be open to receive submissions of the applications, no later than 16h00 on the day.

“ICASA would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their continued support during the execution of our mandate of regulating in the public interest throughout the year. We wish everyone a well-deserved break, COVID-19 free holidays, and a prosperous cross-over to the new year”, says ICASA Chairperson, Dr Keabetswe Modimoeng.
