Pretoria – The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has successfully concluded its three-day public hearings on the proposed new Satellite Services Framework. The hearings, which were held from the 5th-7th February, saw a number of key stakeholders providing valuable oral presentations regarding the framework’s content.
Having received over 50 written submissions from various interested parties, the input gathered through these discussions are crucial for the Authority in shaping an informed and inclusive approach to the framework for satellite services in South Africa. Thus, reinforcing ICASA’s ethos of Regulating the Sector in the Public’s interest
ICASA extend its gratitude to all individuals and organisations who took the time to participate in the hearings, both in person and through written submissions.
“The committee will now carefully review all oral and written submissions, which all form a critical part in assisting the Authority in developing a findings document.
