ICASA EMBARKS ON PROVINCIAL OUTREACH WORKSHOPS TO ASSIST STAKEHOLDERS WITH THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR COMMUNITY BROADCASTING AND RADIO LICENCES

PRETORIA - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will host a series of in-person Provincial outreach workshops between 07-11 April 2025 and 05-09 May 2025. This follows the publication of an Invitation to Pre-Register (“ITP-R”) for Community Sound Broadcasting Service (“CSBS”) and Radio Frequency Spectrum (“RFS”) Licences on 10 December 2024, in the Government Gazette, No 51727, and the virtual workshop held 25-26 February 2025.

These workshops aim to provide clarity and guidance on the detailed requirements of the ITP-R application process, as well as the legislative and regulatory frameworks for CSBS and RFS licensing, to ensure that applicants are empowered to comply fully with the ITP-R[1].
