ICASA convenes public hearings in respect of Telkom’s application to amend its Radio Frequency Spectrum Licence

The ICASA Council has resolved that, based on ongoing developments in what is a rapidly changing market, the consultation process in respect of the Inquiry into the Subscription Broadcasting Services Market must be extended into the current financial year.

ICASA hereby wishes to confirm that it has reached an agreement with Telkom in respect of the litigation instituted by the latter against the high demand radio frequency spectrum licensing process

ICASA published the findings following the conclusion on the ongoing regulatory process for the review of the pro-competitive conditions imposed on relevant licensees in terms of the Call Termination Regulations of 2014. Kindly see the attached media statement for your information.

ICASA welcomes the judgment and order issued on Monday, 28 March 2022, by the full bench of the Pretoria High Court in respect of the digital migration case between e.tv and the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies and pleads with Telkom to reconsider its litigation position.
