2020-07-24The Council of ICASA has resolved to grant a 14-day extension in respect of submissions into the Draft Code for Persons with Disabilities Regulations published on 12 June 2020. The new date for written submissions is now the 14th of August 2020.
ICASA clarifies the misstatement made by the National Community Radio Forum (NCRF) during an SABC television interview
2020-07-14ICASA would like to correct the misconception created by the National Community Radio Forum (NCRF) and assist them to understand the role of the Authority as it relates to the Universal Service and Access Fund (USAF) collections.
This follows utterances by the Forum during an interview on SABC TV, that sought to undermine the regulatory mandate of ICASA as contemplated in the legislation; and potentially damaging to the reputation of ICASA.

Cllr. Gongxeka-Seopa tendered her resignation with the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies during April 2020 in terms of Section 7(3) of the ICASA Act.
ICASA and NMISA agree on a collaborative arrangement through an MOU
2020-07-08The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) and the National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) entered into a strategic collaboration agreement this week.
The CEO for ICASA, Mr Willington Ngwepe, and the CEO for NMISA, Mr Ndwakhulu Mukhufhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during a video-conference signing ceremony between the two entities.
