ICASA published the 2024 Second amendment to the National and Provincial Party Elections Broadcasts and Political Advertisements Regulations
2024-04-19The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) published an Amendment to the National and Provincial Party Elections Broadcasts and Political Advertisements Regulations, 2014, (“the Regulations”) on 26 February 2024. The Regulations are applicable to broadcasting service licensees during the election period, including Political Parties and Independent Candidates (“IC”) contesting the upcoming national and provincial elections.
ICASA to allocate Party Election Broadcast (PEB) slots to Political Parties and Independent Candidates
2024-04-16The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will allocate Party Election Broadcast (PEB) slots to Political Parties and Independent Candidates (ICs). This follows the receipt of a list of all Political Parties and ICs contesting the National and Provincial Elections from the Independent Electoral Commission ahead of the National and Provincial election taking place 29 May 2024.
ICASA to Hold Public Hearings on Amended Draft Numbering Plan Regulations

ICASA publishes the Draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan and the Draft International Mobile Telecommunication Roadmap for public consultation
2024-04-08The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has published the Draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan (Draft RFMP) and the Draft International Mobile Telecommunication Roadmap (Draft IMTR) for public consultation. These draft documents aim to ensure proper alignment and co-ordination of the allocation and assignment of radio frequency spectrum in South Africa.
ICASA PUBLISHES DRAFT CALL TERMINATION REGULATIONS
2024-03-22The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has today published for public comment draft amendments to the Call Termination Regulations, of 2014 and 2018. These draft amendments mark the penultimate step in a process that began with the Authority’s 2021 decision to review the existing call termination rates.
